Two prizes for Deventer City Hall at Building of the Year Election

The town hall of Deventer - a design by Neutelings Riedijk Architects - won the public award last Friday at the Building of the Year Election. The building also won the prize for best building in the category Identity & Icon Value.

Main Dutch architecture election
The election of the Building of the Year is the most important Dutch architectural election. The BNA, the association of architectural firms, wants to show the added value of architecture to clients and society.

Selected from 113 entries
The Deventer Town Hall was nominated from 113 entries. With two other entries, the town hall was also nominated in the category Identity & Icon Value. According to the jury, the building has become "a house of the urban community". The town hall was greatly appreciated for the good fitting in the old town of Deventer.
