Who we are
The Amsterdam Research Project (ARP) is a non-profit initiative based at the VU University in Amsterdam under the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The research is aimed at assisting Dutch organizations interested in upcoming markets with their endeavors to establish their business abroad. This year, a select group of 19 motivated and highly talented students have been chosen to conduct research in South Africa.
The ARP conducts research tailored to the specific needs or challenges of a company. A few examples of the types of research that we offer are market analysis, the identification of potential strategic partners or the analysis of a company’s optimal entry strategy. We have delivered several reports that have aided companies in expanding their activities in overseas areas.
What we do
This year we have the pleasure to conduct research for ABT in South Africa. A team of three students will be fully available for ABT. The team consists of Emma Ootes, Ken Lam and Corine Beerepoot. End of March they will conduct research for five consecutive weeks in various cities in South Africa. There they will perform field research and provide an answer to the following main research question: What is the most effective method for ABT to position itself in the South African wind turbine industry?
Upon return, the obtained information will be analyzed and processed in a report. The research will be concluded with a presentation at ABT with the findings.
