Rail bridge across the IJssel
The railway bridge across the IJssel River is part of the Hanze line and lies at Rhine traffic headroom (about nine metres), so no moveable bridge element is necessary. A cycle path will be built alongside the new bridge. The new bridge consists of a combination of concrete and steel.
An engineering conglomerate was formed by ABT and SSF (Munich) for elaboration of the tendering design. ABT, as a Prorail-recognised engineering firm, was thus responsible for the geotechnical consultancy, the assessment by means of systems engineering, and for the harmonisation with Netherlands standards and Prorail guidelines.
