The industrial complex the Meelfabriek in Leiden is industrial heritage. The Meelfabriek silos date partly from 1904 and belong to the oldest reinforced concrete structures in the Netherlands. The mill is being redeveloped according to a master plan by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. Investigation by ABT demonstrated that reuse as hotel, homes, and catering and exhibition spaces is very possible. Underneath the project, an underground parking garage with 600 spaces is provided.
