VOC parkingLelystadThe construction consists of in situ poured concrete walls, columns and beams with hollow core slab floors. Almost the entire construction lies below ground level. The box is executed with two voids spanned by a bridge. These bridges incorporate two glass stairwells that connect the car park to ground level. With the exception of these two stairwells, the entire building of over 141 by 28 metres lies at ground level. Because of the semi-open location and the sunken position with respect to the surrounding terrain, two forms of ventilation have been used, one for removing heavy exhaust gases and one for keeping the emergency exit routes free of smoke. Within the garage and in the stairwells, the installations have either been completely hidden or, contrastly, made more visible to exploit their enhanced aesthetic qualities. Safety and parking systems have been fitted and made compatible with those of the other municipal car parks. scope:4,770 m2 GFA, 183 parking placesclient:Municipality of Lelystadarchitect:BV Zaanen Spanjers CSconsulting services:Structural advice, architectural plan development, project management, cost management, on-site management and technical system provisions |
