Music centre 't IJ/ BimhuisAmsterdamThe striking shape of this building with its overhanging roof acts as a landmark. Its distinguishing mark is its central hall behind a transparent facade. The music centre is executed with a freestanding raised Bimhuis. ABT set out a 40-year operating calculation for its energy use and technical maintenance (multi-year maintenance budget) and advised on the selection of electricity supplier and type of operational management. The building is characterised by very high quality acoustic provision, soundproofing and the complex arrangement of the building.
