University of GroningenGroningen University of Groningen New building for the medical faculty. The building links up with two existing buildings - the anatomical laboratory (the ‘little tower’) and the dentistry faculty. Building alongside existing constructions, particularly making the foundations, demands a precise project approach.
The structural scheme consists of a concrete column structure with wide-slab floors; for the large spans of the lecture theatre and the projection, steel lattice trusses were employed. Not only the curved golden façade, but also the large overhangs catch the eye.
